FRIENDS & SUPPORTERS

Carnival of Colours would simply not be possible without the support that our funders, sponsors, volunteers, artists and audiences provide. A special mention must go to our principal funders, Derry City and Strabane District Council, and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, both of whom offer more than just the hard cash! We would also like to thank our accommodation partner Holiday Inn Express and all our Fab Food Friends and sponsors, who continue to feed and water our international artists and show them the hospitality that DerryLondonderry is famous for!

We are delighted to welcome our sponsors Allstate NI, and Joe Jacksons to join the gang in 2023, and Arts and Business NI who are supporting us to deliver the Future Youth stage in partnership with our sponsorswe are so grateful to you all! Thank you to the Tower Museum for providing a quiet space. And finally, thank you to the amazing Nerve Centre whose generous support has made our music and night-time programme possible this year! We just love local arts organisations supporting local artists! Thank you, thank you, thank you all!

Please don’t forget that Carnival of Colours relies on the generosity of our audience. We work hard to keep the event free to make sure nobody is excluded, but we do ask that if you can afford it, you give a LITTLE... and if you can REALLY afford it, that you give a LOT. Every penny we receive goes straight back into spreading happiness, creativity and craic at Carnival of Colours and helps to ensure the next year’s festival can happen! So please dig deep, pull out a note, fold her up and pop her in one of our buckets! Or scan the QR code to give in just a few seconds! Support our event

Quiet Space

This year, the Tower Museum has very kindly offered to provide a quiet area in their Education Space. This will be ideal for anyone who is feeling a little overwhelmed by all the Carnival mayhem to take a peaceful break. This will be available from 1-6pm both days.

Wet Weather

Cross your fingers, cross your toes and stick the Child of Prague in the front yard...but JUST IN CASE of bad weather we will be moving the circus shows to the Nerve Centre; We will have volunteers on hand at each pitch to direct you, and will update show times on our Facebook page should we need to move the festival indoors!

Parking

We recommend that you cycle, walk or get the bus into town...but if you are coming to the festival by car, you are advised to use the following car parks:

• Ebrington • Victoria Market • Foyleside

• Quayside • William Street • Foyle Street

• Bishop Street

All of which have spaces for Blue Badge holders.

Pee Breaks

There are plenty of toilets available around the City Centre including at the two main shopping Centres; Foyleside and Quayside, inside the Guildhall, the Tower Museum, as well as numerous cafes and restaurants (if you’re grabbing a bite to eat / drink).

Foyleside also has a sensory room and changing space, should you need it.

Special Thanks

Where to start? From the top…

This Festival would not be possible without the hours of dedication, commitment and occasional tantrums from the team at Carnival HQ...it’s much more than a job to us and we really do go above and beyond to make this event so special! Also a shout out to our families who put up with a lot and provide support and care packages at this time of the year (and always if we’re honest)!!

We’d like to thank our incredibly supportive and proactive Board of Directors...Christina Crouch, Stephen Kelly, Eavan King, Max Beer and Ross Parkhill.

Our crew, our safety team, our incredibly talented artists, our wonderful Circus School kids and their families, our volunteers, our partner organisations… and YOU our audience...

HATS OFF TO YOU ALL!

Cath McBride and Rachel Melaugh (Company and Festival Director)
