PROTOCOL CHANGES EFFECTIVE : OCTOBER 27, 2021

REMOVAL OF MANDATORY SECOND TEST FOR FULLY VACCINATED TRAVELLERS Fully vaccinated travellers, who arrive with a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test result, may be notified by health officials at the Grantley Adams International Airport, that they have been selected for a randomized arrival Rapid Antigen test on entry. This replaces the mandatory second COVID-19 PCR test for all fully vaccinated travellers previously in place. See page 4-8 for additional details. Fully vaccinated travellers selected for a randomized COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test on arrival must follow the below process: •

Show proof of a negative Standard COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 3 days prior to arrival in Barbados, as outlined in the Barbados Travel Protocols;

Take the Rapid Antigen arrival test as directed at the airport free of charge;

Await the results of the Rapid Antigen Test (no quarantine required due to short turnaround time for results);

Depart the airport via the transportation of your choice;

Travellers are asked to note that list of Countries of Special Consideration has been discontinued.

ENSURE YOU ARE FULLY VACCINATED Travellers will be considered to be fully vaccinated if:

ACCEPTED VACCINES

• They have completed a full regimen of vaccines for any of the Ministry of Health and Wellness approved COVID-19 vaccinations1, for 14 days or more prior to travel to Barbados*. • Travellers who have mixed vaccine regimens of Ministry of Health and Wellness approved vaccines will be considered fully vaccinated. E.g. (1st dose of one brand followed by 2nd dose of another which is not a one-dose regimen).

TAKE YOUR TEST BEFORE ARRIVAL • Persons who are fully vaccinated must travel with a valid negative standard COVID-19 PCR test result from an accredited or certified facility. Accepted tests include tests which were taken at an accredited or recognized laboratory by a healthcare provider via a nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal sample (or both) within 3 days prior to arrival. LAMP tests, self-administered tests or home kits and rapid tests or tests using saliva samples will NOT be accepted. • Upload your test results and vaccine certificate via the BIMSafe App and travel with a copy of your test results clearly showing the date the test was taken.

• Download the BIMSafe App from the App Store and complete your online Immigration/Customs form at least 24 hours prior to travel. The form is also available at travelform.gov.bb.

• If travellers experience technical difficulties completing the online form, it may be completed on arrival.

ON ARRIVAL • Have your negative COVID-19 PCR test result (in English) or your BIMSAFE QR CODE visible. These results will be screened for validity by the Ministry of Health and Wellness in Barbados. • Pre-submission for approval of vaccine certificates is preferred. Additionally, proof of vaccination (in English), in the form of a vaccine certificate, is required. Validation of certificates at point of entry will include one of the following: 1. Proof of issuance from a National Public Health Organisation. 2. Proof of documented vaccination issued by a hospital or medical centre. 3. Use of an independent validation system, such as IATA Travel Pass, or The Digital Green Certificate. • Fully vaccinated travellers are free to use the transportation of their choice for departure from the airport.

RANDOM TESTING Fully vaccinated travellers selected for a randomized COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test on arrival must follow the below process: •

Take the random arrival Rapid Antigen test as directed on the day they arrive in Barbados;

Test at the airport free of charge;

Depart the airport via the transportation of your choice;

Will not be required to quarantine.

If the COVID-19 PCR test is not validated on arrival, travellers will be required to have a COVID-19 PCR test at the airport or at an approved satellite testing facility. On receipt of a negative PCR test and clearance from health officials, travellers will then be able to enjoy all that Barbados has to offer.

ENJOY BARBADOS SAFELY • Once travellers have had their negative COVID-19 standard PCR test and vaccination certificate validated and received clearance from Ministry of Health officials, travellers are free to enjoy the island. The Ministry of Health and Wellness reserves the right to require testing of any traveller to the island regardless of documentation presented or any other requirement, obligation or condition required for entry into Barbados.

FAMILY/GROUP TRAVEL CHILDREN UNDER 18 • Some travellers may be travelling with children who may not have been vaccinated. Children under 18 years, travelling with fully vaccinated guardians will be allowed to adhere to the same guidelines as their fully vaccinated guardians. GROUPS COMPRISING VACCINATED AND UNVACCINATED TRAVELLERS. • If a fully vaccinated adult traveller is traveling with an unvaccinated adult traveller, 18 years and older, and they choose not to be separated, then the rules applied to the unvaccinated traveller, will also apply to the fully vaccinated traveller.

TESTING Travellers under 5 years of age will not be required to have a COVID-19 standard PCR test unless they are symptomatic or any member of the travel party has a positive test result.

UNACCOMPANIED MINORS ● All unaccompanied minors under 18 years of age must travel with proof of a negative COVID-19 standard PCR test result from a test taken no more than 3 days prior to arrival. • Vaccinated unaccompanied minors will follow the guidelines for all vaccinated travellers. • Unvaccinated unaccompanied minors will follow the protocol of unvaccinated travellers. • Where guardians are considering travel for unaccompanied minors, they are required to make a submission to the Chief Medical Officer (for his consideration) via covid19hotline@barbados.gov.bb.

PERSONS WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH COVID-19 WITHIN THE LAST 3 MONTHS Those travellers who have recovered from recently diagnosed COVID-19, and whose pre-flight PCR test is still positive, should have in their possession a letter for their medical practitioner with lab test results indicating the date of diagnosis and recovery. These travellers, on arrival into the island, may be required to complete an assessment at one of the isolation facilities for up to 48 hours before being released from quarantine.

SPECIAL ASSISTANCE Specific travellers who have non-standard circumstances that need to be addressed, are advised to contact The Ministry of Health and Wellness via covid19hotline@barbados.gov.bb at least 3 days prior to travel to Barbados to have their requests investigated and facilitated. Specific travellers also include: i. Diplomats ii. Persons with a medical condition warranting special consideration (to be certified by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO)) iii. Persons with a disability or travelling with persons with disabilities The Chief Medical Officer reserves the right to alter or vary the application of these protocols as circumstances warrant.

DEFINITION OF UNVACCINATED TRAVELLERS A traveller will be considered to be unvaccinated when they are: • A person who has not been vaccinated at all and therefore has no evidence of such. • A person who claims to have been vaccinated but has either produced no valid evidence of vaccination or the evidence produced cannot be verified.

ACCEPTED VACCINES

• A person who has been vaccinated using a vaccine not on the Barbados list of approved vaccines. • A person who has only received one dose of a two-dose regimen.

This list of approved properties may be found at www.barbadostravelprotocols.com. • Unvaccinated travellers are encouraged to book a minimum of 7 nights at their approved quarantine accommodation while they complete their 5 day quarantine and await the results of their second on-Island standard PCR test. Results may take 1 - 2 days to be returned.

All persons will be required to quarantine at their own expense.

These results will be screened for validity by the Ministry of Health and Wellness in Barbados. • Travellers will receive a state-of-the-art monitoring bracelet that accompanies the BIMSafe app, which you will wear during your quarantine period. This water-resistant and tamper-resistant bracelet keeps you and those around you safe by ensuring you remain within your designated quarantine location.

QUARANTINE AT PREAPPROVED ACCOMMODATION • Unvaccinated travellers are required to use specially designated transportation providers for their transport from the airport to approved accommodation. • During quarantine travellers are not allowed to leave their rooms/suites before receiving a 2nd negative COVID-19 standard PCR test result.

TAKE A SECOND TEST 5 DAYS AFTER ARRIVAL • Unvaccinated travellers will be required to take a second COVID-19 standard PCR test 5 days after their arrival in the country. Travellers who refuse to have a second test may be denied entry or quarantined for 14 days.

ENJOY BARBADOS SAFELY • On receipt of a negative COVID-19 standard PCR test result from their on-Island COVID-19 standard PCR test and clearance by Ministry of Health officials, travellers are free to enjoy the island. ON ARRIVAL •

Observe all public health protocols and masks must be worn at all times while at the airport in Barbados

Undergo a health assessment which may include a temperature check and a brief interview by Port Health Officials.

May be required to undergo a rapid (COVID-19 antigen) test prior to their departure.

In-transit passengers without evidence of a valid negative COVID-19 standard PCR test may be denied entry into Barbados.

OVERNIGHTING IN BARBADOS •

In-transit passengers must use designated transportation providers for their transport from the airport to their pre-approved accommodation.

In-transit passengers who are overnighting in Barbados are required to quarantine at pre-approved accommodations. The list of approved properties may be found at www.barbadostravelprotocols.com.

During the overnight quarantine, in-transit passengers are not allowed to leave their rooms/suites unless they are returning to the airport.

On return to the airport, unvaccinated travellers are only allowed to use designated transportation providers for their direct transfer from their accommodation.

TESTING POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 IN BARBADOS

If you test positive for COVID-19 while in Barbados, you will first be assessed by a member of the isolation facility for a minimum of 24 hours. After which, you may request from the Ministry of Health and Wellness the option to self-isolate at your own expense at a government-approved isolation hotel or villa, or government-approved isolation property. This can be facilitated under strict stipulations that must be signed as accepted and proven to be in place. Alternately, you will be transported to other accommodation for isolation. Upon recovery, you can resume your vacation or you may return home. Please note the requirements for self-isolation on Page 19

Those persons who are deemed to have been in close contact with a positive case will be restricted to approved facilities until retested and cleared by health officials.

Should a person test positive for COVID-19 while staying in Barbados they may request the option to self-isolate at a government-approved isolation hotel or villa, at their own expense. This will apply to persons who are asymptomatic and deemed well and stable enough by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS ARE: • All isolation properties must contract the services of an approved security company for the period of isolation. Associated costs will be charged to the property occupant. • Travellers must sign a consent release permitting details of their restricted movements to be shared with the Ministry of Health and Wellness by the approved security company. • Medical support services approved by the Ministry of Health & Wellness must be contracted at the expense of the traveller to monitor their condition in accordance with clinical protocols. • Travellers opting for self-isolation in an approved facility will be monitored via the BIMSafe app and monitoring bracelet.

All travellers are required to have a valid negative COVID-19 standard PCR test result in order to enter Barbados. If further testing is required on arrival, the following will apply:

• Please email traveltest@visitbarbados.org for information on COVID-19 PCR tests required for travel from Barbados. Additionally, travellers can have their standard PCR tests done privately via any of the providers listed on Pages 21-22. • Persons requiring a COVID-19 rapid antigen test prior to travel from Barbados, are advised to visit the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium between the hours of 9am to 4pm. Please note that the time required for testing and return of results can take up to 2 hours. This test will be conducted at a fee of $50 USD per person and is only payable by debit/credit card. ● All departing persons must wear a mask while at the airport and comply with instructions given by public health officials.
