ABU DHABI TOURIST GUIDE

TRAINING PROGRAMME

The exciting training program will help you on your journey to becoming a world-class Abu Dhabi tourist guide. The programme is designed to be hybrid (online training and practical on-site training) where you will gain extensive and detailed knowledge about Abu Dhabi, and learn to embed crucial soft skills including communication, presentation techniques, and group management. The journey consists of 5 main steps to eventually obtain the Abu Dhabi tourist guide license:

INTRODUCTION SESSION

This session can be attended by anyone who is interested to know the details of the training programme. The session will guide you through the steps of Abu Dhabi tourist guide training and licensing programme.

ONLINE REGISTRATION

After the introduction session, if you are interested to join the program you can proceed to register online through TAMM Click Here

To finalise the online registration, a payment of AED 2,700 must be made for expat applicants. Registration is free of charge for Emiratis and children of Emirati mothers.

After the online payment, you will receive email with your credentials to access the Abu Dhabi Tourism Talents (ADTT) platform. You will then have a self-study period of 3 weeks in which you will be required to study the online training material in preparation for the knowledge assessment.

3 KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENT

The knowledge assessment has 60 questions which is a gateway assessment, designed to ensure that you have the required knowledge before being allowed to proceed and attend the online training modules. The duration of the assessment is 60 minutes and it includes multiple choice and short answer questions.

If you fail the assessment, you will have two chargeable attempts to re-sit in the upcoming two cohorts from your first attempt. Please note that in case you fail in the third attempt, your application will be rejected.

ONLINE TRAINING MODULES

Upon successful completion of the knowledge assessment, you will be able to study the required modules of the training program:

5 FINAL ASSESSMENTS

Upon successful completion of the online modules on the platform, you will be able to proceed to the moving tour practice and the final assessments;

Moving tour practice

• You will have a guided city tour by a licensed tourist guide in the first hour.

• Then you will have 3 to 5 minutes to practice guiding with the assistance of personal notes, and you will receive general feedback to know how to improve before the final practical assessment.

Final Assessments

• Day 1: Presentation Assessment is a virtual assessment where you will present two topics; a prepared presentation which you will know in advance, and an unprepared topic where you will be asked on the spot.

• Day2: Moving Tour Practical Assessment is where you will apply your Abu Dhabi knowledge and guiding skills in conducting part of a city tour for a maximum of 5 minutes.

Upon successfully completion of the assessments, the Abu Dhabi tourist guide license will be issued with your name and picture. Validity of the license is for 2 years, and it can be renewed by via an online assessment.
