About Copyright Agency|Viscopy Copyright Agency is a not-for-profit rights management organisation, whose members include artists, writers and publishers. We manage licensing arrangements that allow educational use of content in a variety of ways, in return for fair payment to our members. Viscopy is Australia and New Zealand’s not-for-profit rights management organisation for the visual arts providing copyright licensing services for a wide and varied customer base on behalf of our members. Copyright Agency and Viscopy have partnered together to provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ to help you earn income from copying of your work. We represent more than 10,000 Australian and New Zealand artists and beneficiaries. Approximately half of our members are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. Membership is open to all Australian and New Zealand artists and others (such as artists’ beneficiaries and art centres) who own or control copyright in visual works of art. Membership is free to all artists regardless of commercial success including, but not limited to, painters, sculptors, photographers, illustrators, cartoonists, craft practitioners, potters and architects.

Resale royalty scheme for visual artists Under the resale royalty scheme artists receive royalties on certain resales of their work. Copyright Agency has been appointed by the Australian Government to collect and pay these royalties to artists. To find out more visit www.resaleroyalty.org.au

Indigenous education program Copyright Agency|Viscopy is proud of the education program we deliver for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, students and arts organisations throughout Australia. This program is aimed at providing Indigenous artists and art centre professionals with practical services for the protection, documentation and remuneration of their artworks and the copyright that attaches to those artworks. This will directly contribute to building a professional, stable and profitable base of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art centres that are self sufficient in producing and distributing artworks of artistic excellence. 9
