STAIR RENDERING A small waiting area is incorporated among the stairs on the 9th floor. A colorful wall is accented on the back of the stair to contrast with the neutral branding wall on the front side of the stair. Diagonal lines are incorporated through the shape of the stair and railing of the stair. Linear light fixtures are placed leading up to the stair which draws employees to the stair encouraging interaction. The stair is 10’ wide to accommodate for conversation.

A custom wall covering is used in the cafe and break room to encourage movement and energy. Contrasting wall-coverings are used to create energy and separation in the cafe. The upholstered booths encourage interaction with other trainees. A full kitchen with two serving buffets is also located in the cafe for use for events or any time catering is provided.

THE PROJECT Group project; 2 Interior Design students Design a spa like digestive health center with hospitality like amenities Students select branding, and location, develop space plan, and applications Carolina OFS products are applied throughout space Software: Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

THE SPACE Scotsdale, AZ Must include; Reception, waiting, secondary waiting, admin, manager offices, staff lounge, 4 practicioner offices clinical work area, consultation room, 4 patient restrooms, infusion suite, 20 exam rooms (1 large), charting alcoves, and storage/sterilzation closets. Incorporate hospitality like amenities 12,540 SQ. Ft

CONCEPT Our goal is to meet patients where they are, metaphorically and physically. While the clinic is surrounded by wide-open sky and rugged, desert terrain, the interior encompasses all of the deep neutrals and nude tones that hint at the early signs of a new season. Transformative fixes offer flexibility and room for growth as a reminder of what’s to come. The design of the Array Digestive Health Clinic reminds patients of a slower way of life and reflects more conscious living to further prevent digestive health conditions.

CONCEPT NEXT hubs design focuses on the Arlington Memorial Bridge in Washington, D.C. The use of arches, geometry, repetition, and reflection seen in the bridge, will be applied throughout the space. Arches can be found reflected upon floor and ceiling to encourage students to use common spaces. This relates back to the concept in that the arches of the bridge are the most intriguing part of the bridge and are reflected onto the water. An industrial, minimalistic design is also used to relate to the structural elements beneath the surface of the bridge. Window mullions are a dark grey metal which relates to the substantial structural beams and metal of which the bridge is constructed.

Public together private alone Public together spaces encourage collaboration. Students and educators typically have to quickly vacate a room at the end of class to make way for the next group. Small collaboration spaces located outside the classroom invite students to continue class discussions.

Private alone spaces encourage students to get away from the crowd and take a moment to gather their thoughts and get focused without all of the noise. Despite an increase in collaborative work, individual study is still necessary for learning. These spaces, such as study enclaves and small breakout rooms, provide privacy without distraction for maximum productivity.

private together

public alone

Private together spaces offer acoustical and vertical solutions for students to come into a closed space and collaborate together. Mobile tables, chairs on casters, seating that nests or stacks and portable white boards let users set up quickly for the work at hand and allow them to make the space their own.

Public alone spaces offer an area for students to wind down and get focused, in the presence and comfort of others. Connecting corridors with daylight-streaming windows attracts students and can be easily equipped for study with tables, booths and comfortable seating.

KEY PLAN \ NOT TO SCALE

Restaurant The restaurant, Minnuit, seats 50 comfortably. There are several types of seating throughout the restaurant to give guests options, and comfort. The restaurants design is based off of a celebration in New Orleans called St. Peters Eve. The celebration takes place during a summer solstice and is celebrated all night long. Therefore, the design reflects the night sky and celestial atmosphere.

lobby bar The lobby bar, “Gather Round, seats 43 guests comfortably. There is a large arrangement of seating to allow guest to choose the seating they prefer. The bars design is driven by the ambience and traditional elements of a campfire. Legends and stories have traditionally been told around campfires, and this warmth and comfortable atmosphere is reflected throughout the lobby bar.

Inspired by the property itself, the team created the space to reflect the natural elements, colors, and shapes to create the design of the space. The concept also relates to the herd animals on the property, such as cows, and horses. The herds are applied to the design by the use of gathering and bringing the students together these elements are applied throughout the space through the use of color selection, furniture selection, and the overall layout of the building. THE LAMP NEST is a portable lamp designed to show organic elements through its form and texture. This is shown through its organic shape all the way to its clay material. The rays of light emitted from small holes throughout the clay spheres are similar to the sun shining through tree limbs and leaves in nature. Within the globes, which resemble the moon and its craters, the LED bulbs are nested. The small holes will cast a design onto any surface that surrounds the lamp.
