Appleton Harley Davidson recently hosted it 15th Annual Chili Cook-Off, which allowed chili lovers to sample a variety of recipes. There was also a jalapeno eating contest for those that were brave enough.

“It’s a fun way to get families and the community to come out and just have a good time together,” Ruhi Drysdale said. “Everyone can hang out and get to know each other, as well as the dealership and the people who work here.

“This year we had about 100 people here to enjoy the afternoon, but only about eight entries. Some were very unique recipes. Everyone used different bases and ingredients. Some were made with meat, some with just veggies. They were all very different but really delicious.” Drysdale said this year’s jalapeno eating contest was entertaining. “It did get pretty intense. Corey Daniels was this year’s winner. He was able to eat five whole jalapenos in 60 seconds. The audience was a little worried about what that might do to that poor man, saying, "Oh, that’s going to hurt later.” Adam & Samantha Mohringer
