This traditional French easy desserts is usually made with black cherries. In these gourmet recipes, you can use a mixture of any fruits you prefer. Ingredients 2/3 cup ground almonds ½ cup milk ½ cup heavy cream 1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 2 eggs ½ vanilla bean, cut in half lengthwise 1 tablespoon unsalted butter ¾ cup peeled, cored, and firm green apples 1 mango, peeled and diced ½ cup blackberries

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. In a large bowl, stir together the milk, cream, ground almonds, 1/3 cup sugar, and the eggs. Scrape the seeds from the vanilla bean and pour into the bowl Whisk the ingredients together and set aside. Place the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once the butter melts, add the apple and 1 tablespoon sugar. Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes, or until caramelized. Remove from the stove. In the bottom of four 5 ½ in. baking dishes, lay the apples, mango, and blackberries. Pour the milk mixture over this.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 30 minutes, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
