Report from the Acting Chair

As this is my last note as acting chairman it comes with mixed feelings. First an urgent request to fill the vacancies on the committee. These are the same as stated in the April and May editions in the Tourer and are as follows.

There are nomination forms in this mag, and all nominations are to be received by me before 16th of July, at either my home address 5 Diamond Court Ashhurst or by email to dazaway5@gmail.com It is imperative for your club to have these positions filled as it cannot function WITHOUT having these positions being filled. Should no nominations be received there will be no option but to wind the branch up. The assets of the club that many of you put so much time and effort into over many years (in fact it is 59 years) and for what? Just to let it die? And what about those of you that just don’t like the existing format? Put your mind to it, fill these positions and change it so we can all get on and operate as it was intended, a car club! With regard to enquiries on the finances of the club. The acting treasurer and myself went to see a chartered accountant whom after an hour meeting, stated that there was only the one glitch. That, you members had observed. Apart from that all was in order. However she could not help us any further as it was and suggested that we contact an auditor for further clarification. Our treasurer did this only to be told that to do a full audit would be an unnecessary expense as apart from the obvious mistake all seemed to be in order. As to the layout of the end of year accounts, we are an INCORPORATED SOCIETY and as such this is a requirement to meet their criteria, hard to read or not. So with all of the above said, the current committee are calling a Special General meeting on the 21st July at 7.30pm to elect persons for the above positions.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING OLD GRIEVANCES TO THIS MEETING. THEY WILL SERVE NO PURPOSE FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR CLUB.
