Remove rust from lightweight cast iron
HOW TO REMOVE RUST
Always handwash your lightweight cast iron pan and dry immediately to prevent it from rusting.
STEP 1
Scrub with a rough dish brush and warm water until the rust has dissolved. Dry thoroughly.
STEP 2
Turn on the fan and open the windows for good ventilation. Coat the pan with vegetable oil. Increase the heat slowly to avoid thermal shock. When it starts to smoke, wipe it off and coat it again. Repeat this step 4 – 6 times.
STEP 3
Let it cool. Then, wash with warm water, and wipe dry with a paper towel. The pan is ready to use again.
