FRESH WATER FISHING
At Hitra, there are more than 700 fresh water lakes, and in several of them, the chances of catching trout are great. The best fishing lakes are situated in the natural reserve Havmyran, to the south-west on the inland of the island. Most people fish with worm and floater, but the biggest fish is most often caught with spinner and fly. NB! To fish trout, you need a fishing licence. You can buy it on net; www.inatur.no, or contact the tourist office. You may also bring your own fishing tackle for fresh sea fishing. Equipment that is leased is most often designed for deep sea fishing

They are focused on safety on the sea by leasing flotation suits, GPS and charts. Several have also installed a tracking system in the boats so that they will know where you are at all times. Many fishing tourists return every year, year after year. They enjoy our hosts, the fact that there is space to move and the opportunity to stop and think. NB! You do not need to be a passionate fisher, there are also boats and equipment that are suited for families that want to take the children on short fishing excursions in sheltered waters.
