Frank J. and Jane E. Ryan Endowed Chair in Strategy and Innovation
r. Patel comes to VSB after teaching as an associate professor of
management at the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics from Spalding University and received his master’s and doctorate in Entrepreneurship from The University of Louisville.
With his computer science background, Dr. Patel has made technology and governance his primary area of research, with operations in new ventures being a secondary area of study. He has published articles in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Managements, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal. He has also delivered over 60 presentations at national and international conferences and has co-authored a paper that received the 2012 Decision Sciences Journal Best Paper Award. He joins the Management department as an associate professor and as the Frank J. and Jane E. Ryan Endowed Chair in Strategy and Innovation.
