life with a splash of outstanding public service City of Monticello officials are dedicated to serving all citizens with the quick responsiveness of a mayor-council form of government. The Mayor serves with four council members elected from city wards, a council-at-large representative, the clerktreasurer and the city attorney. Public Safety is a high city priority. The Monticello Police Department has quality full-time officers with reserve and parttime personnel adding to the department. Throughout the community, officers are highly visible as they provide business security checks and assistance at community events. The police department is active in area schools providing educational material on safety issues and anti-substance abuse programs. White County Sheriff’s Department manages county-wide law enforcement services. j
