to just give the baby girl medicine and she’d be fine. However, Ella felt the baby needed to feel loved so she tenderly cared for her. The baby responded to Ella’s loving attention and gained four pounds in two weeks. She quickly grew into a beautiful little girl and was also adopted. Ella had the honor of fostering the first child to be adopted interstate from California to New Mexico. The historic adoption was chronicled in an article in the San Diego Union Tribune. Ella took time and care to make keepsake albums for each of the children she fostered to give to their adoptive parents. The albums contained the children’s pictures from birth until they were adopted. She also bought gifts for the children to give to their new brother or sister when they joined a family so the siblings wouldn’t be forgotten in the excitement of the adoption. Amazingly, one of the children Ella fostered named Harmony still keeps in touch with her by email and occasional visits. She came into the Vraines’ home when she was three years old and

stayed one year until she was adopted. Harmony once told Ella that if it wasn’t for her loving care, she wouldn’t be where she is today – a happily married mother living in San Diego County. Today Ella is considered to be an “Earth Angel” by many for all the care she provided to children in need. She’s a warm, charming and dynamic woman who’s still full of energy and has a heart that makes her want to keep giving to everyone. She’s proud to be a mother of four children, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and have been a foster mother to over 80 children.
