Temecula Valley High School Class of 2015 reaches for stars Ashley Ludwig Staff Writer
Temecula Valley High School’s new stadium filled with families and supporters of students ready to begin the next phase of their lives. On Thursday, June 4, the area around Temecula Valley High School was packed with families, friends, and supporters of the graduating class of almost 600 students. “This is the first graduating class to celebrate in our brand new facility,” Principal Allen Williams said. “It’s exciting to see.” Students were granted the opportunity to gain special seating for the coveted event, winning tickets in a raffle breakfast, with grand prize winners sitting in the VIP section on the field, or atop the skybox booth, including a banner, bearing the graduating senior’s name. “It’s a grand celebration after this year,” Williams said. Parents waited in line for their seats in a well ordered event, with home side seating filling up. A video montage of the class, and the seniors backstage had visitors cheering their seniors on prior to their grand march onto the football field. The TVHS symphony and chorus sang as crowds sat and the TVHS cheer team sold seat cushions, cheerleading megaphones and snacks. The color guard brought the flags into the stadium before seniors set-

tled and the Class of 2015 showed their talent as students of the drama department sang to entertain the gathered crowd. “I can’t believe this day has finally come,” mother Paige Day said of her graduating senior, Kellie-Dale Mariah Day who plans on attending the University of Mississippi. The over three-hour event called names of each senior, finalizing in the honorary moving of the tassel. “I’ve been looking forward to this my entire high school career, and now, I almost can’t believe that it’s over,” one high school senior said.
Hats flew and friends cheered as families were allowed on the field for pictures, flowers, and hugs. One simple reminder remains as a 2015 class member spoke from the center stage. “I haven’t lived much life yet, so I won’t pretend to share my wisdom with you,” the graduating senior girl said. “But I will share the wisdom of one we’ve all learned from over the years. Bill Nye, the Science Guy once said, ‘Everyone out there knows something that you don’t know.’ So listen to others, Class of 2015, and keep learning.”
