Self-Expressive & Uncensored Design Design throughout the hotel evokes self-expression and the desire to live life uncensored. An oversized video wall, the backdrop to the reception desk, depicts a close-up of a vintage typewriter at work, while the reception area blends seamlessly into Obscenity Bar & Lounge – a visual celebration of the First Amendment.

Seating arrangements produce a collaborative workspace during the day, while at night the bar is a softly-lit cocktail room, calling to mind the cultural movements and literary gatherings of times past. Guest rooms are stylish homages to The Beats, with engaging artwork and interactive elements. Original, Beat-inspired texts appear on the floor, from hallway carpet straight to the guest room – a visual journey in and of itself.
