Dear Sisters, It seems spring has come and gone already. With the days getting longer, I am looking forward to the upcoming summer solstice this month. And with more and more people getting vaccinated and COVID cases going down, I'm hopeful that more in-person gatherings will be possible soon! Recently, I've been in a couple instances where I've gotten to share more about my Danish heritage and my involvement with the Danish Sisterhood. In both cases, I was sharing stories about my family history or about some fun Danish traditions. Neither of the people I was talking to had ever heard of the Sisterhood or knew much about Denmark. I was excited to share what I knew and to tell them all about the Danish Sisterhood. I'm sure this has happened to many of you before. And I've found that, when I share more about my heritage and Danish Sisterhood involvement, people are always very interested to learn more! It is also a great opportunity for me to learn more about their family heritage and organizations they are involved with as well. I hope each of you take advantage of opportunities to share your stories as they arrive. Who knows, maybe someone will join the Danish Sisterhood because of it! I hope you are all well and wish you all a safe, healthy and fun summer ahead. Until next time, Lauren C. Nielsen, Editor editor@danishsisterhood.com
