Renee Vaughan

Renee Vaughan plays new and traditional Scandinavian music on the nyckelharpa, an instrument that has been around in one form or another for over 700 years. The sound is both rustic and ethereal. She has played for the King and Queen of Sweden, and hroughout the northern heartland area. She is a regular performer at the American Swedish Institute and Høstfest, and she recently completed Artist Fellowship through the American Scandinavian Foundation to study playing Swedish folk music for Scandinavian dancers.

Bruce Danielson

Bruce Danielson is a retired math teacher who has performed as Ole for nearly 35 years, first for the school’s faculty variety show (20 years) and then at such locations as Hostfest in Minot, ND (twice) and, Lena and he, as Grand Marshalls, at the annual Norsk festival in Libby, Montana. He’s performed all over Minnesota and Wisconsin at churches, Sons of Norways, and schools. His wife, Judy, has put up with him for 52 years, saying, “Who knew that ‘Till death do us part’ would take so darn long?” Their son, Matthew (a math teacher in WBL) played Little Ole for the first 10 years of the variety show. He and his wife, Jen, have two daughters: Corinne (10) and Nora (7).
