Science Specialization in Engineering Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree

Would you like to become an engineer? The engineering program is designed for those students who want to complete the first two years of their engineering education at the community college and then smoothly transfer to complete their degree. This program pathway has been designed to allow for seamless transition to most engineering disciplines at all Virginia engineering schools.

Program Length 2 years (4 semesters)

Transfer Objectives Aerospace, agricultural, biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, computer science, construction management, electrical, industrial, mechanical, mining, and oceanic engineering.

Tuition & Fees At only $162.11 per credit hour, you’ll save $10K to $22K, in tuition costs alone, by starting at VHCC! Out-of-state students living within a 30-mile radius qualify for in-state tuition.

Brian Hale got his start in engineering education at the community college. Upon graduation, he received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech. He has more than 20 years of experience teaching engineering courses with more than 85% of students successfully transferring and receiving their bachelor’s degrees in engineering.
