General Studies Pathway in Exercise Science

Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree

Can you picture yourself pursuing a career in the physical fitness area? Does the science of exercise and the role it plays in good health intrigue you? This General Studies pathway in Exercise Science is designed to prepare students with the basic general education requirements required to transfer into a four-year program in Exercise Science.

Program Length 2 years (4 semesters)

Transfer Objectives Scientific reasoning, critical thinking, written communication, civic engagement, professional readiness, and quantitative literacy.

Elizabeth Fairbanks is an experienced Biology and Anatomy & Physiology instructor at Virginia Highlands Community College, with over 16 years of college-level teaching experience. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Emory & Henry College, Master’s of Science in Education with a concentration in Biology at Radford University and post-graduate coursework completed at the University of Florida.
