Specialization in Mechatronics

Associate of Applied Science Degree Completion of this program will prepare students for employment as electrical technicians with emphasis on installation, power distribution, controls, programmable controls, mechanical systems and the maintenance of industrial machinery. In addition, this program aids in preparing students that are eligible to sit for the NEC Journeyman’s license and Siemens Certification Test. While completing this AAS degree, students will also complete the Applied Mechatronics and the Advanced Mechatronics Career Studies Certificates.

Program Length 2 years (5 semesters) Career Opportunities Electrician, Electrical/Electronics or Industrial Maintenance Technician, Industrial Field Service, or Maintenance Supervisor.

G3 Eligible This program is G3 eligible. G3 Scholarships cover tuition and fees for Virginia residents of modest income who are pursuing high demand careers.

to $22K, in tuition costs alone, by starting at VHCC! Out-of-state students living within a 30-mile radius qualify for in-state tuition.

With 20+ years of experience as well as an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology and Siemens Certifications in Mechatronics instruction, Donnie Melvin is well versed in commercial and industrial maintenance and brings extensive practical, real-world experience to the classroom.
