Career Studies Certificate This Career Studies Certificate in Corrections is designed to provide a working knowledge of the corrections field and an understanding of the skills used to manage, treat and counsel inmates. The Foundations of Criminal Justice CSC is a prerequisite for this program for students pursuing a Criminal Justice AAS degree. An optional Level 2 G3 program in Law Enforcement is also offered along this pathway.

community corrections, probation/parole officer, re-entry specialist.

G3 Eligible This program is G3 eligible. G3 Scholarships cover tuition

and fees for Virginia residents of modest income who are pursuing high demand careers.

Tuition & Fees At only $162.11 per credit hour, you’ll

save $10K to $22K, in tuition costs alone, by starting at VHCC! Out-ofstate students living within a 30-mile radius qualify for in-state tuition.

Robin Widener has a B.A. in Sociology, an M.S. in Criminal Justice, and an M.A. degree in Human Services Counseling: Crisis Response and Trauma. She has over 27 years of experience in the Criminal Justice System and is a guest instructor for several state and local organizations.
