Skagen 853xlssc Stainless Steel Function I just received my Skagen GMT in the mail and I want to correct the previous post. This watch is a dual time zone watch. The thin hand with the red tip indicates the second time zone in 24 hour format. The second time zone can be set independantly of the hour and minute hand. Pilots, for example will set the 24 hour hand to Grenwich Mean Time(GMT) and set the regular hour hand to local time. The large red hand with the arrow at the end indicates when the alarm will go off. The small dial indicates seconds. The instructions that came with the watch do not cover all these details and you must go to the Skagen website to find the full instructions. The watch is beautiful, and has a sturdy, high quality feel. It is a bit larger and thicker than I expected which is fine. I didn't want a thin delicate watch. The pictures on Amazon make the face look white but the color is actually slightly metallic, like aluminum. I have only had the watch for a day so I can not attest to the durability or accuracy but so far I am very pleased with it. The crystal was cracked and the locking clasp was bent and could not be locked. . . . . I am sure it was returned and sold as new!!! Very disappoint with AMAZON for selling me this watch without being able to return it! I was initially very chuffed with my purchase. I like the look, don't mind the weight, and expected this to be a keeper for the next 10 years. Wrong. Like a couple of other reviewers here it stopped working within three months (just after the return period window closed). I took it to a clock maker to have the battery replaced. He assessed the watch and declared it dead, apart from the stopwatch function which still works. His assessment: cheap clockwork. Sorry to say, Amazon, this is my second no-money-back disappointment with watches off your site in two years and I won't be coming back for more. MY WATCH STOP WORKING AFTER THREE MONTH, WE CHANGE BATTERIES AND DID NOT WORK WHAT I NEED TO DO IN ORDER TO GET A GOOD WATCH THAT WORKS. . . . . Another good watch from Skagen. All the extra features work perfectly: GMT, Alarm function, and Dual time. The bracelet has a unique shape as well. Beautiful.
