CLASS OF 2022: ADJUSTING TO A NEW ADVENTURE Over the summer, anticipation built amongst the students in the class of 2022 as they prepared for their debut as freshman. With so many new opportunities, the consistent support of upperclassmen is a necessity for incoming ninth graders. “Butterfield is the best, they are all so supportive,” says Clare Miller-Petznick. Many new extracurriculars are available for the 9th graders this year. “I play varsity golf, and I love the opportunity of being able to play a highschool sport,” says Bryce Robinson. However, the freshman aren’t thrown into the new world of Upper School alone. “Having an upperclassman as my sister is something I really appreciate--she’s really shown me the ropes,” says Audrey Klinefelter. The freshmen are excited to be a part of the upper school and look forward to the rest of the year.

BUMP, SET, DOMINATE The Girls Varsity Volleyball team has had quite the season so far. After adjusting to a new coach just two years ago, they have become a strong unit on and off the court. Their current record is 5-4 and they couldn’t be prouder. They are excited to see what October brings and hope to do well at Conference again. They have some new freshman to the team and a new junior, but the girls act like they have played together for years. Their motto this season is: All in, All us.

DOWN, SET, TOUCHDOWN The Boys Varsity Football team has had a great start to their season. They have adapted well to changing class and going to an eight man line up. The boys now have the opportunity to participate in Districts in hopes of making it to state, so keep your fingers crossed. The football team has gained many new players and these players have adapted well to the well-established team. They are excited to see what their end of season brings.

FORE‌THE BT GIRLS GOLF TEAM IS HITTING THE GREEN The BT Girls Golf team has had a successful season thus far. Although they have already had many tournaments and matches, they always look forward to ones coming up. The team gained some new teammates this year (Bryce, Cami, and Riley), but they are working together well and looking to their coach for guidance. When they are on the green, there is nothing stopping them from achieving their victory.

R đ&#x;ŽžGER Â THAT Â The Boys Tennis team is doing well this season. They have the same coaches as last season: Coach Davis and Coach Smith. The boys have won most of their duals, with a minor loss to Ralston. The boys co-op with Concordia and they have enjoyed getting to know new teammates on and off the court. Tennis is a game of mental strength and the boys surely demonstrate that. The boys are excited for state and cannot wait to see what the rest of their season brings.

HOMECOMING WEEK HIGHLIGHTS  When the cheerleaders gathered to decorate the halls on Sunday night, Homecoming Week festivities were well on their way. The annual tradition of the Chili Supper went off without a hitch, and the football game, although BT didn’t win, was one for the books. The homecoming dance, after overcoming some technical difficulties, was a huge success, and students had the opportunity to dance to their own playlists until the night was over. Homecoming this year was different than any other, but the BT community enjoyed it and will remember it forever.
