By reducing pressure to sensitive nerves and arteries of the hand, the RX glove eliminates numbness that can result from riding over rough terrain. Dr. Kenneth Taylor, M.D. of the San Diego sports medicine consortium and director of primary sports medicine at the University of California, San Diego, conducted a clinical trial on Serfas RX glove and RX grip systems. Kenda tech

Kenda engineers have developed a series of advanced rubber compounds that out perform regular rubber compounds in many ways. Rubber compounds can be formulated to provide better grip, less rolling resistance and better puncture resistance. Choose a compound that’s right for your needs and your cycling efficiency and enjoyment will improve.

DUAL TREAD COMPOUND. The ultimate tread compound. Kenda’s L3R PRO compound (60 shore durometer) in the centre and the cornering knobs have STICK-E compound (50 shore A durometer). The benefits are great centre tread life, and great cornering control and grip. Found typically in Kenda’s Legends Series and race/performance tyres.

STICK-E COMPOUND. A slow rebound rubber (50 shore A durometer) for the ultimate in grip and traction control. The slow rebound rubber acts like a form of suspension that conforms to the trail, rock or roots surface instead of bouncing off it. Used primarily on Kenda’s large dowhill (2.35, 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7) tyres.

L3R (LOW ROLLING RESISTANCE RUBBER) COMPOUND. Used mainly in Kenda lightweight cross country (XC) mountain bike tyres. The benefits are Low Rolling Resistance and increase tread life. Typically a tyre with L3R compound weights less than the same tyre with normal compound.

Kenda tech

Tyre casing is the fabric that the rubber compound adheres to. The fabric of the casing can be made in varying thickness and threads per inch (TPI). Generally, the higher the TPI number, the more supple the tyre sidewall will feel and flex. This means a more comfortable ride compared to that of a lower TPI casing. The casings can be treated and reinforced with various materials in order to achieve different degrees of puncture resistance and ride qualities.

K-Shield Plus. About 5mm Hi rebound rubber added between the casing and the tread. K-Shield Plus provide great punctures resistance (30% better than K-Shield)

IRON CLOAK. Kendaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s best puncture resistant material. Iron Cloak is a layer of material under the tread that runs bead to bead. In addition to helping prevent punctures, it also adds strength to the sidewalls of the tyre by adding minimal weight to the tyre.

CASING ADDED PROTECTION. CAP or CAP PLY as it has been referred to is an added layer of material that is under the tread area and runs from bead to bead. Generally used in Kenda Premium Downhill Tyres as a puncture resistant material designed to prevent pinch flats.

IRON CAP. A layer of material that runs from bead to bead under the tread to prevent flats. Iron Cap combines some of the technology from the top of the line IRON CLOAK material without all the added cost.

K-SHIELD. A layer of aramid and ceramic particles insides the tyre under the tread area only. Designed to prevent punctures. This is Kendaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s base level of puncture resistant material.

KENDA UST (UNIVERSAL SYSTEM TUBELESS). Kenda is Certified by Mavic to build tubeless tyres to the UST (Universal System Tubeless) standards. Tubeless tyres offer decreased rolling resistance for easier pedaling. By eliminating the tube, lower air pressure can be achieved and the chances of pinch flatting is eliminated.

summer fabrics MICHRON The latest in fibre and knitting technologies have yielded Giordana’s best performance jersey fabric ever. 100% polyester micro fibre yarns move moisture off the skin more rapidly than ever before. The unique miniature honeycomb textured knit allows airflow to keep you cool. Michron is a performance fabric breakthrough. TVX3 A new material specifically designed for cycling jerseys. New TVX-3 has moisture-moving capability that is now enhanced via micro-ducts on the surface of the fibre. TVX-3 also has a permanent antibacterial treatment that retards the growth of odour and stain causing bacteria, thus extending the life of garments. The third component of new TVX-3 is that it has been redesigned to offer more protection from harmful ultraviolet rays. MOOVIX A lightweight hollow microfibre material utilized for jerseys and shorts within the TenaxTM collection. The unique honeycomb

structure, which incorporates nylon and Dupont Lycra, enables Moovix to stretch equally in all directions, not just the two or four way stretch of standard spandex materials. Its high stretch and compression rates also produce a micro-massaging effect on the skin, delaying muscle fatigue. Due to its high opacity, Moovix effectively protects against UVA and UVB rays. Its high moisture moving capability further augments the comfort that Moovix garments provide. An antibacterial treatment inhibits the growth of odour causing bacteria. Antigua™ A 135 g/m2 weight, 22% Lycra®, this is the signature red backing of the Aerofix™ premium material combination, used in the FormaRed-Carbon™ garments. The internal surface is a red semiperforated material that creates small pockets of air next to the skin, allowing it to breathe.

MOXIE Moxie fabric is treated to promote fast wicking and evaporation of moisture. This treatment means that perspiration will not be trapped next to the skin, so riders will feel cooler and drier. Moxie nylon/ spandex fabric is offered in 200gr weight, and is used in Bodyclone and Silverline bibs and shorts. Fits like a nylon/ spandex blend.

Already in use with TIME frames, the VIBRASER concept improves comfort as well as energy transmission by absorbing the vibrations caused by irregularities in the road surface. The VIBRASER technical zone under the cleat, integrated into the fiber lay-up of the carbon sole, makes this new sole the reference in terms of performance and comfort

THERMO MOLDING: AN INNOVATIVE CONCEPT OF COMFORT. The thermo moldable membrane integrated into TIME shoes (ULTEAM RS, ULTEAM TRI, MXS) allows the shoes to adapt to the feet of each rider, thus maximizing comfort and improving energy transmission. Remove the insoles from the shoes and open the fastening straps of the shoes to facilitate the heating process. Position a hair dryer 15cm from the opening in the shoe at an angle of 45 degrees, oriented in the direction of the front of the shoe. Heat at maximum temperature for 4 minutes. After finishing the heating phase, place your foot in the shoe (using cycling socks) and moderately tighten the straps, staying seated. It is important not to walk during the cooling phase. Keep the shoe on your foot for 15 to 20 minutes until the shoe returns to ambient temperature. The shoes will conform to the natural shape of your feet as they cool. The shoes may be thermo-formed as often as you wish.
