Allied Health Sciences (AHS)
CMC has been constantly upgrading the AHS courses from informal in-service training to certificate, diploma and university degree level courses, and 2011 saw significant increases in the number and range of AHS courses. The training integrates classroom teaching with hands-on clinical and practical work. The courses are designed to improve knowledge and professional skills, build character, nurture motivation and strengthen drive not to be served, but to serve the needy
Currently, there are 424 students in the undergraduate courses and 188 students for other courses (postgraduate diploma, diploma, fellowship and postgraduate fellowship courses).
Distance Education
The Distance Education Unit envisions an exponential increase in trained human resources for quality healthcare delivery, with a special focus on reaching the poor and marginalised in India and similar developing countries.
The department strives to achieve this by training all categories of health workers (doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, medical/nursing students and community volunteer workers) through targeted curricula that provide standardized theoretical and practical training conducted at more than 20 centres throughout the country.
