THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS AND THE OLD TESTAMENT – 86
There is a lot of confusion when it comes to interpreting the Holy Bible, many end up wanting to follow the Old Man, this is what is currently happening in Brazilian politics, especially with the evangelical bench. hhh It is worth remembering that we must always follow the teachings of Jesus quoted in the New Testament, if people read the entire bible (which few Christians do), they will find that there is a huge difference in some teachings described in the two testaments. hhh You may have heard of that famous message from Jesus: hhh

"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. Matthew 5:38,39
But what few know, who is this “you heard” that Jesus was talking about was the Old Testament:
Anyone who injures their neighbor is to be injured in the same manner: fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for

tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury. Leviticus 24:19,20
This clearly proves that there is a difference in Jesus' advice regarding what was said in the Old Testament. Jesus is love, Jesus is freedom, but this freedom will not avoid the consequences of the wrong paths we can follow. That also will not prevent us from losing salvation, so we have to preach the word of God, say what is right or wrong. Not wanting to forbid people from doing something the Bible says is wrong. But not all Christian politicians think like the president or the evangelical bench, the ex-candidate for president of Brazil and ex-secretary of the environment to Marina Silva, is evangelical and has the same thought and biblical interpretation that I shared, she was accused by some Christians of being a traitor to the gospel, but she justified herself by saying that everyone does what they want in life and that they will not take away anyone's freedom.
