Your Gift is Important Your support is critical to mission of the College of Humanities and Sciences The research we are able to advance, the innovative programs we are able to create, and the talented students we are able to support are all dependent on individual donors. You can support the vital work of the College of Humanities and Sciences in numerous ways, including: Annual Fund Giving Donations to our Annual Fund allow us to meet immediate needs for students and faculty. Each year, hundreds of alumni and friends give individual gifts ranging from a few dollars to $10,000 or more. All gifts — no matter the amount — help the College of Humanities and Sciences where the needs are greatest, from student scholarship support, student research, acquiring new technology, and so much more. The Dean’s Society, founded in 2009, recognizes and thanks the many generous donors –alumni, parents, students, and friends –whose annual gifts make possible the dynamic, diverse, and creative environment that defines the humanities and sciences experience. Major Giving A major gift represents not only a greater financial investment in the College of Humanities and Sciences, but demonstrates your commitment to the success of our students and our ongoing research. Major gifts to the College have been used to endow departmental scholarships, professorships, and support innovative research projects. Major gifts provide a long-term financial stability and will enrich the lives of students and faculty for years to come. “Some time after graduation, I fully realized the value of my H&S degree that has allowed me to fulfill many of my goals in life. Giving back to the college is the best way I can give another person that opportunity as well.” William H. “Bill” Mattox — B.A.‘80/CHS

Planned Giving Many of us wish we were able to do more to express support for the organizations that mean the most to us. Planned giving, which includes financial and estate planning, allows you to express support without parting with the assets necessary to take care of yourself and your family. Planned giving instruments include bequests and charitable gift annuities which offer tax advantages to you or your heirs. A decision to make a planned gift must be carefully considered within the context of your goals, family, age, charitable interests, assets, and giving capacity. The Heritage Society recognizes donors who have made provisions for the College of Humanities and Sciences in their estate plans. Please let us know if you have made such provisions.
