agle Project

m|| Spirit Chair This month I had my Boy Scout Eagle Project which was also Whitney Key Club event. First and foremost I would like to thank everyone who came to help me complete this project. Through this project, I was able to create 100 school supply kits for the children at the Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Long Beach. This drive allowed each of the children to receive a pencil, eraser, sharpener, glue stick, set of crayons, set of color pencils, and a set of markers. 75 children also received a pair of scissors. For children in this hospital, maintaining an active education is extremely difficult. While hospitalized, children are prevented from both having fun and being educated. However, through this project the children at this hospital now have the tools that will allow them to learn. In addition, these children will be able to entertain themselves by doing art. The hospital was extremely excited to see these kits that were made through the help of a few Key Clubbers from Whitney High School. The hospital has had trouble giving such supplies to children as they cannot be reused. Thus, the hospital was extremely thankful for this donation and hopefully the children will be too. This project was extremely fulfilling as I got to get Boy Scout volunteers and Key Club volunteers to mix and create amazing school supply kits for the children of this hospital. Once again I would like to thank everyone who attended my project and helped to put together these packages.
