Orkney Health Walks What is a health walk? A health walk is a short, low level, fun, social, safe and accessible walk led by a trained walk leader.

Walks vary in length and last no longer than an hour. Participants are encouraged to walk at a pace that feels comfortable and lets them chat.

Walking is free, requiring no special equipment and is within the physical capabilities of most people. It can be easily incorporated into daily life and is a realistic goal for most individuals.

Walking can:  Make you feel good  Increase your energy levels  Help reduce stress  Help you sleep  Help with weight management  Help reduce blood pressure  Help keep your heart strong

Would you like to walk more? Do you need the motivation of a regular walking group? Would you like company to walk with? Would you like to meet new people and chat along the way?

If so joining a health walk might be for you.

If you are interested in joining a walk feel free to just turn up on the day. Please wear weather appropriate comfortable loose clothing and flat supportive footwear. Please come along a few minutes early to allow time for registering.
