Choir Will Go to Europe T h e H o p e College C h o i r , u n d e r the direction of Dr. R o b e r t C a v a n a u g h , will e m b a r k u p o n its first E u r o p e a n t o u r next summer, a c c o r d i n g to Dr. Paul G. Fried, d i r e c t o r of H o p e ' s Office of International Education. GOP Sweeps Nation in Election A s the f i n a l e l e c t i o n r e t u r n s roll in, a n d t h e w h i r r i n g c o m p u t e r s c o m e to a h a l t , it is e v i d e n t t h a t the R e p u b l i c a n P a r t y s c o r e d a l a n d s l i d e v i c t o r y in s o m e a r e a s a n d r e c o u p e d t h e l o s s e s of t h e 1964 election. This y e a r ' s e l e c t i o n w a s held to p a s s j u d g m e n t o n the o c c u p a n c y of 4 3 5 H o u s e of R e p r e s e n t a t i v e seats, 35 Senate seats, a n d 3 5 g o v e r n o r s h i p s , a s well a s t h o u s a n d s of o t h e r l o c a l a n d s t a t e w i d e offices a c r o s s the n a t i o n s . T H E O V E R R I D I N G i s s u e s of the c a m p a i g n were the c o n d u c t of the w a r in V i e t n a m , the risi n g cost of l i v i n g a n d t h e d o m e s tic p o l i c i e s of t h e J o h n s o n .Administration. T h e R e p u b l i c a n s e d g e d out the D e m o c r a t s in t h e e f f o r t to g a i n t h e s u p p o r t of the p e o p l e in t h i s off-year election.
