OP officials of the Indonesian embassy’s visa department have encouraged Nigerian travellers to Indonesia to maintain the habit of processing the travelling documentation ahead of planned travel dates. The encouragement came following the embassy’s realisation that Nigerians who intend to migrate to Indonesia for different purposes have improved tremendously in the manner with which they handle visa processing. In view of the aforementioned, the embassy has assured both
prospective travellers and Nigerians resident in Indonesia, the best of consular assistance, while also promising to continue to priorities entry permit to interested Nigerians, in addition to providing them conducive visa processing environment. Also speaking on the need for Nigerian travelers to be in possession of valid travel documentation to avoid travel delay, the Indonesia embassy Trade Promotion Center’s Deputy Director, Bona Kusuma, said he was impressed with Nigerians participation at the recently concluded Indonesia Trade expo. He declared that Nigeria topped the list
of visitors in the recently concluded trade transactions in Indonesia, and this he said was as a result of the promise to prioritising entry permit to Nigerians who seek various categories of Indonesia visa. Kusuma who also advised Nigeria visa seekers to Indonesia, said that it is important for intending travellers to contact the embassy and or consulate for proper guidance and or current regulations prior to departing Nigeria. However, the ITPC’s Deputy Director, was quick to add that Nigeria recorded about 21.2 million dollars (N3.5 billion), which placed the country on the high-
est level of transaction among other visited countries investors. He told Vanguard Consular Advisory (VCA) that the trade transaction afforded Nigerians the opportunity to explore varieties of businesses in Indonesia, as well as meet with businessmen from different countries across the globe. According to Kusuma, who was expressive in relating his country’s interest to ensuring a stronger bi-trade relationship with Nigeria, and also in other key sectors of the Nigerian economy. “We are impressed with the display of good bi-trade relationship at the expo and in view of the this fact, we are assuring Nigerians that the embassy would henceforth, not relent in its promise to ensure that Nigerians who seek entry into Indonesia experience a first class and stress free visa processing.” He said that the embassy was willing to address any bothering consular issue, in respect of visa processing and or visa issuance, stressing that, Nigeria and
Indonesia have long enjoyed the best of bi-national relationship. “Participants were exposed to varieties of Indonesia products, ranging from food and beverages, margarine, soaps, sardine, paper, cosmetics and rubber products as well as barge and tug boats. The ‘Trade Expo Indonesia’ (TEI), is an annual event designed to promote high quality Indonesian-made products and services to the global market, improve business and investment networking. It also provides opportunities for participants to interact oneon-one with different Indonesian products manufacturers, as well as products and services exhibitors from other countries”, Kusuma added Also expressing satisfaction with the growing interest of some Nigerians in doing business with Indonesia, Kusuma added, “I am optimistic that trade between Nigeria and Indonesia will rise above expectation in the coming year”, stressing that, “the Indonesian Government would continue to improve on its bi-national relationship with Nigeria in the years ahead, and in this regard, both countries would be able to continue to enhance products export, bridge and connect potential investors”.
