As a health consultant, to what will you attribute your good looks? As a healthcare practitioner, people tend to look up to you, thinking that you have every answer when it comes to health. They don’t know that healthcare practitioners have health challenges too. The truth is that the healthcare practitioners are the worst patients when they have health challenges. So, I don’t really see a healthcare practitioner different from any other person in terms of health. But by the grace of God, I am enjoying good health, although I’ve had my own fair share of health challenges. I used to drink lots of coffee. I used to drink

But I ended up having health challenges that made me change my diet. I have changed my diet now. I take fruits, vegetables and water everyday. I practise whatever I preach unlike what was obtainable in the past. Once you know you have a challenge, the next step is to make amendments. I am more health conscious now than I was 10 years ago and it has helped me a lot. I would advise people to take lots of fruits, vegetables and water. I had a very happy childhood. My father was the first Mining Engineer and my mother was a teacher. My parents were particular on how we were brought up. My mother knew how to bake and so, she could cook lots of foods for us and she makes sure we were well fed. I was a well nourished child. I grew up eating the right things but I picked up my chocolates habit as a child. When I became an adult, I was already taking coffee. My father was addicted to coffee. Lots of people take chocolates but they end up in hospital because there is always a payback time. As an adult, I became a dental patient because of chocolates. My candid advice for people is to give their children chocolates in moderation. They should teach their children to chew carrots, cucumbers instead of chocolates. I thank God that I am enjoying good health now.

Boil potatoes and mash slightly;chop o n i o n s . Heat oil in a pan; add mustard seeds; when it crackles add urad dal. When the dal becomes brown, add onions and fry till golden brown. Add salt,turmeric p o w d e r, c h i l l i powder and the p o t a t o . Fry till crisp and garnish with curry leaves.
