Obasanjo now problem to Nigeria —N-Delta monarch BY EMMA AMAIZE

ARRI—FORMER National President of Traditional Rulers of Oil Minerals Producing Communities of Nigeria, TROMPCON, and Pere of Seimbiri Kingdom, in Delta State, HRM Charles AyemiBotu, yesterday, examined the activities of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, since he left power in 2007, and concluded that he was now a problem to Nigeria. Speaking to Vanguard on the recent suggestion by the former President that Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State was the kind of person needed to rule the country in 2015, he said that Obasanjo wanted to control and dictate to President Goodluck Jonathan, but having failed to achieve that desire, he opted to pull the house down. Ayemi-Botu, who was livid over Obasanjo’s activities, said: “This is not the first time he is talking about Sule Lamido. Some months ago, he had called on Lamido to take a shot at the Presidency in 2015. “Obasanjo does not want to let go of governance in Nigeria. He wants to be calling the shots even though he is no longer the President. He is a problem to Nigeria. Let Nigerians know that he now has to fraternise with Sule Lamido because, if by chance, Sule Lamido makes it to Aso Villa in 2015, he will be remotely controlling the governance of Nigeria. “Meanwhile, what is his intellectual capacity that makes him feel that if he is not in government or in governance of Nigeria, things will not work well? His eight years was an abysmal failure that did not bring any positive result. Take power for instance, works, the roads were not mended, he spent over N160 billion between him and Anenih and nothing came out of it. During the days of late Bola Ige, nothing happened in the power sector."

Delta PDP suspends Orubebe, 9 others ...It's not true —Korokorosei BY FESTUS AHON

U

GHELLI—THE political fortunes of Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsdey Orubebe, yesterday, suffed a set back, following his alleged suspension by a faction of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Burutu Local Government Area chapter, Delta State. He was said to have been suspended alongside nine others over alleged “gross misconducts likely to bring about disrepute, hatred, contempt and anti-party activities.” Meanwhile, Mr. Sagbegha Korokorosei, who said he remains the authentic Chairman of PDP Burutu council, asked the people to disregard the purported suspension of Orubebe. Factional PDP chairman in the

council, Pastor Kenneth Ogeibiri and four others, in a statement, said: “At our meeting held in Burutu town, headquarters of Burutu LGA, on June 1, members of the party received petitions from concerned PDP faithful against Elder Orubebe and nine others. “After a preliminary hearing, pursuant to section 21.4 of the PDP constitution 2009, as amended, and by the virtue of the powers conferred on us, the Working Committee of the party, via section 21.4 of the same constitution, we, hereby, place Elder Orubebe on suspension.” Also suspended, according to the statement, were: “Owotorufa Ayiba-Ebe, Arebebe Ongulu, Sagbegha Korokorosei, Timidi Agbabi, Elmina Eselemo, Roland Akemfa, Asheta Oyabebefa, Augustine Gomoromo and Ekenwa Okwagbe.” The faction added that “in the

light of the above, the affected persons are hereby, referred to PDP Disciplinary Committee, Burutu council chapter, for further investigation.” Urging the people to disregard the said suspension, Korokorosei said: “I wish to inform you that I, Mr. Korokorosei, remain the authentic Chairman of PDP Burutu council. Whosoever is impersonating and or purporting to suspend Elder Orubebe, the Minister of Niger Affairs, such an action amounts to illegality. Nobody has the power to do so, because the people purporting to be doing so are a frustrated group being used by people opposed to me. Please, ignore whatever they might have said because the man in question committed no offence.”

But as you buy these plants, ensure that you get in touch with the governors of these states as early as possible. This is because there is a security master plan that they will set down for you to work with."

Why I took over construction of federal roads in Delta —Uduaghan BY AUSTIN OGWUDA

A

SABA—GOVERNOR Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State, yesterday, said that he deliberately took over the construction of some federal roads that run through the state due their economic viability to the state, but would not rule out seeking refund from the Federal Government. He, however, lamented the incessant vandalisation of some of the projects, such as schools, in some communities. Several primary and secondary schools, according to the governor, had been constructed under the special infrastructure put in place to fast track development in the state at a cost of N7 billion. The governor, who spoke through the Commissioner for Special Duties (Special Infrastructure), Mrs. Orezi Esievo, at a media parley in Asaba, said: “The 149km road, that I like calling 300 kilometre, is one of the best decisions that this governor has taken. It stretches from Ughelli to Asaba, and opens up over 70 communities."
