Hallmark Card Shop The relationship between Disney and Hallmark began long before Disneyland first opened. In 1930, just two years after the premier of the first Mickey Mouse cartoon “Plane Crazy", Disney signed a merchandising deal with “Hall Brothers Greeting Cards”, which would later become Hallmark. This successful early partnership helped both companies grow during their humble beginnings, and in 1960, Hallmark opened the “Hallmark Card Shop” on Main Street U.S.A. The shop closed 25 years later, after providing countless park guests with Disney-themed greeting cards, postcards, and other souvenirs to take home as mementos of their early trips to Disneyland.
