Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland An upgrade to the 1956 “Rainbow Caverns Mine Train” led to the creation of the “Mine Train through Nature’s Wonderland” attraction which debuted in 1960. The new Mine Train took guests through Cascade Peak, Bear Country, Beaver Valley, the Living Desert, Devil's Paint Pots, and Rainbow Caverns. The Mine Train, with its scenic and unusual views, captivated park guests for nearly 20 years before permanently closing to make room for “Big Thunder Mountain Railroad”, which has kept several homages to the former attraction throughout the Mountain.
