ZIM TO INVEST APPROXIMATELY $30 MILLION IN THE CITY OF VIRGINIA BEACH
VIRGINIA BEACH | ZIM American Integrated Shipping Services Co., LLC, (ZIM) is set to invest approximately $30 million in expanding its U.S. headquarters in the City of Virginia Beach. This significant investment demonstrates ZIM’s strong commitment to the region and its confidence in Virginia’s business-friendly environment. The project, which was won in a competitive process against other states, is expected to create several hundred jobs over the next five years.
Governor Glenn Youngkin praised the state’s supply chain management infrastructure, robust transportation network, and world-class Port of Virginia®. Virginia’s strategic location and proximity to the port are expected to facilitate ZIM’s further growth in the U.S. market.
Secretary of Commerce and Trade Caren Merrick highlighted the advantages that the Hampton Roads region offers to ZIM. With its proximity to the Port of Virginia®, this strategic location aligns perfectly with ZIM’s plans for expansion. She emphasized that Virginia’s pro-business environment, skilled workforce, and effective collaboration among various stakeholders make the Commonwealth an attractive destination for investments in the logistics sector.
