His father is a doctor who helped them to buy their quiet suburban home. Sayo was a bookstore clerk before marriage and is now a homemaker. Family members are: Kazuo Ukita (45, father); Sayo Ukita (43, mother); Mio Ukita (9, daughter); Maya Ukita (6, daughter).
