Hotel/Sports Arena Progress Inches Ahead
Meantime, Eaton said no additional work is planned on either the arena or the hotel until additional needed funding is secured. He said he is still working on a financial solution to get both the hotel and arena to completion. “If we’re able to reach this solution in October then construction can move forward on the project,” he said, adding, “I’m hopeful it’s going to happen.” The bridge loan Eaton received last fall helped pay off subcontractors and release liens on the property, according to documents filed with Maricopa County Recorder’s Office.
Windows have been installed and exterior work has progressed at Legacy Hotel along Sonoran Desert Drive. No additional work is planned on either the hotel or arena until additional funding has been secured, according to the developer.
Problems securing funding during the pandemic caused construction to stall on both the sports arena and hotel. This aerial photo was taken in the beginning of 2021.
bit of construction work has been underway on the Legacy Hotel adjacent to the halfcompleted sports arena east of I-17 along Sonoran Desert Drive. Owner Rob Eaton told Valley Vibe windows on the hotel have been installed and stucco work on the exterior of the building has taken place. It’s the most activity the site has seen since April 2020 when the pandemic brought work on the project to a sudden halt. While Eaton is still waiting on securing funding to fully resume construction on both the arena and the hotel, he said he was able to use remaining proceeds from a $10-million bridge loan he was approved for back in October of 2021.

Seniors Aneesa Zerarka and Aaron Kroeger were in calculus class when a classmate appeared to be suffering a seizure. Both certified lifeguards and members of Boulder Creek’s Swim Team, Aneesa and Aaron went from student to lifeguard mode within seconds of recognizing their fellow peer was in Aneesadistress.immediately began supporting the student’s head, while Aaron began timing the length of the seizure. Together they worked as a team to keep their peer safe while instructing other classmates to clear a safe space around them until help arrived. PBA is a business-networking group founded in 2002 by area business leaders. We also believe in giving back to our community by way of community service projects and fundraisers for local charities. Our focus in these activities is to help the area children and schools. Since its inception, the PBA has a growing membership. We provide a referral base to each other and, in turn, to our customers by being able to direct them to other high-quality area merchants and service providers whom we can personally recommend. local business anthemdirectory 2022 Directory HOMEApplianceSERVICESPros ApplianceProsAZ.com602.501.5501 Ironman Pool Service, LLC Alex IronmanPools.com623.221.5011ROC#Fleshman300411 GarageLegendsDoor John LaBounty, GM ROC# 264825 623.466.3699 office@legendsgaragedoor.com www.legendsgaragedoor.com Liberty Plumbing and Solar LibertyPlumbingandSolar.com623.551.9156ROC#188630 Precise SolutionsPest David PrecisePestSolutions.com602.487.7312Lic#9241Coleman Rain Man Roofing Mark 623.670.2835ROC#268230Hughes RainManRoofing.com EST Enterprises Weed ESTentinc.com623.742.6923OPM#5152Control ProSkill Services Air ProSkillServices.com623.551.7473ServicesConditioning-ROC#276901 BuildersNorthwestService Bobby ROC#262073Keogh Home Repair, Drywall, Painting & Punch List - 602.803.5914 North DarnCustomValleyHauling:Junk Appliance & Furniture Disposal, Junk Removal comwww.northvalleycustomhauling.623.469.5623 North Valley Water Solutions Water Treatment & Water Heaters 623.551.5952 - ROC# NorthValleyWaterSolutions.com323874 byCarpetsRandy Randy carpetsbyrandy.com602.757.2277Cleaning/RepairCarpet/TilePosusta& Double ServicesDInc DoubleDServices.com602.799.0679Painting LandscapingLamberti Chris 623.210.9997Lamberti First FlooringStop Ken Fuchs/Dan Jones 480.243.0226ROC#323255-623.252.8289 www.firststopflooring.com Home InstallationVideoPlusAudio/TheaterSales& Jon Hometheaterplus.tv623.853.6445Yorkis Super RemodelingJ Home 623.210.5692ServicesRemodeling-ROC#224290
