POSTER
22
I first got my inspiration from the Dave Matthews Band website. The two images above are from two different events posted on their website. I wanted to stick to a similar color theme, font style and icons, such as the star. After critiques, I realized the star really has nothing to do with who the band is so I took it out.

POSTER I decided to do a gradient background using the blue colors from the second example of inspiration from the DMB website. I added the lyrics to the song, “Dreamgirl” as a light background with a few lyrics standing out such as “I was dreaming” and “I would dig a whole.” I worked it later so the words “my best friend” stood out as well. I then worked with the order of the objects such as band name, date and location, following the who, when, where order.

COLOR
For the color project, I was sitting out on my balcony trying to figure out what angles to take photos for the location and decided to focus on the water and sky view from my balcony at Bayshore Towers. I wanted to accentuate the color of blue and green. To contrast, I used a dark color, almost black. I chose the three colors by sampling them using Photoshop to get the numbers. Then placed the colors on the color wheel. I decided to do a webpage design for the purpose of possibly using it later with property management of Bayshore Towers.

For ideas, I searched the TemplateMonster website to see what web designs would work best for my design, so I used the inspiration of the Exterior Design template. I liked the way it was laid out and where the elements appeared on the page. I then incorporated the colors from the main view photo to create the background color in the almost black, the title colors in green and links in blue.

In this part of the layout, I wanted to present some of the major aspects of the trails ina few short descriptive columns and highlight two trails that I found to be my favorite living in the area. I accentuated the basic information of the trails
highlighted in the colored box as well. Tlaquepaque is one of my favorite places to shop in the Sedona/Oak Creek area and always had a sense of romance to it, especially with the views and restaurant options.

I really felt inspired by this article in the AAA magazine from last Spring. I wanted to create same idea of “Romancing the rails” and thought it would be fun to do the article on “Romancing the trails.” This layout to me was so pretty and I felt the images presented of Italy and the descriptions gave me a feeling of wanting to be there and experiencing this tour for myself, with all sights and flavors.
INSPIRATION

portfolio portfolio I learned a lot about creating charts in Illustrator. Data was gathered from an article that was written about journalism and mass communications graduates and the numbers associated with how many were successful with getting a job and the type of work they were in. It also included salary information. I decided to focus mostly on the number of graduates that were doing different types of jobs and the percentages each year that got at least one job offer.

My choice for this graph was WilliamsSonoma, Inc and their growth over the last three years. I read through the news stories on Bloomberg.com to find out what kind of events had occurred for WilliamsSonoma or the economy in general, such as the housing market increase, and plotted them accordingly to the chart.
