The community building seeks to help and develop opportunities for the ‘La Conchita’ community-based in Xochimilco, Mexico City. The building is intended to become the central place for La Conchita. The original place is abandoned and used by the community as a main space for reunions and assemblies about the community. The project’s main purpose is to give the villagers a space for leisure, establishing a union in the neighborhood.
In partnership with TECHO Mexico

Award: Best proJect for the units of ‘Context and Architecture’ and ‘Community equipment’
The process was an important aspect of the project since the space had to be versatile so the people using it could have workshops and activities provided by TECHO, our associate for the project. The design was made with the community’s help, the different visits and reunions helped with the process, so they could give their input and tell us what they needed. With that, all the users could benefit and have a better quality of life for the children, teenagers, and adults.
