omance is in the air and no mistake. At this time of year you can’t turn a corner without bumping into a heart shaped balloon or being reminded that it’s time to make a grand romantic gesture, or at least offer your loved one a small token of your affection. Why fight it? We all like to feel loved and sometimes it’s nice to be reminded of the fact too. Sure you could argue it’s all a cynical plot to separate you from your hard-earned cash, but a slushy card is all it takes for most to know you care.

Love is in the air...
Of course ladies will already have planned their approach, what to get the love of their life and probably what they hope he’s going to be giving in return. to The Ideal Home Show, a Healthy Eating Guide, Tickets to Destinations Travel Show, a Secret Guide book and some Weleda bath soak! Last issue’s prizewinners were: Meal for four at The Bell, Aston Clinton: Freda Osborn, Chinnor Lemmy DVD: Doug Stockley, Aylesbury; Steven
For guys it’s trickier, we’ll mean to do the right thing, we’ll have vague ideas of organising something, but then the big day will creep up on us, the best cards will have gone, restaurants will be booked up, the flower shops will be empty... oh misery, not a packet of Celebrations from the garage again... So if your roses don’t bloom on St Valentine’s Day, if the postman fails to knock once, if it seems that romance has ridden on by, don’t despair, remember we love you, dear reader, we really do. Enjoy the read. Best wishes
