Impressions & insights Site Context

- Capital of Andhra Pradesh. - Located on the banks of river Krishna. - Amaravati translates literally as ‘the place for immortals’. - It consists of 51% green space and 10% of water bodies. - Amaravati to be the peoplecentric pioneer Smart City of India, built around sustainability and livability principles, and to be the happiest city in the world.

Technology

- Telugu is the official language of Andhra Pradesh, which is also the mother tongue of nearly 90% of the population.

- Andhra consists of 91% Hinduism, 7% Islam, 1% Christianity and 0.5% others.

- According to Amaravati’s city plans, every property will have fingerprints and iris scans from a new national database linked to it.

- Kuchipudi is the best-known classical dance form of Andhra Pradesh. - Archaeological Museum at Amaravati that features relics of nearby ancient sites. - Amaravati is known for its own school of architecture influenced by the Buddhist art and culture.

- A sex ratio of 1026 females per 1000 males. 6,894 children are in the age group of 0–6 years. - The average literacy rate stands at 48.45% with 37,507 literates.

- From cloud-connected rapid transit systems to energyefficient buildings that allow the free flow of natural air.

- Amaravati will have nine thematic regions comprising of Knowledge, Tourism, Sports, Electronics, Health, Finance, Media and Government. Of these, the regions of Health, Knowledge and Business are witnessing the fastest development.

- Special emphasis has been laid on developing extensive walkways and cycling tracks, interlinked to a 25 km network of open-air green spaces to promote a walk-towork environment and nonmotorised transport.

Concept is to evoke people by experiencing and learning knowledge through portraying stories of environmental issues & ecosystem leading to critical informed actions for future. To realise importance of nature, ecological and quality of life through coherent effort.

Material palatte

Materials were chosen accordingly to create a comfortable, warmth atmosphere imagined in amidst of a forest. Intention is to not take away the focus of greens but create a warmth around it in a context of constant rushing space airport.


Design manifesto


Personas Behaviour - Spends a heavy portion of his day researching and working. - He is a outdoor person who loves to sit in a garden and read book. (and even work sometimes).

Ambitions Demographics

- A healthy life between work and family or personal time. - Dream is to start his own company about digitalising cities.

Rishi Patel, 35 years Single Senior research scientist at Google, Amaravati Phd in computer science at MIT, USA

Stress points - Easily get bored for example waiting for something. - Working hard sometimes get tiring and even travelling for work.


Personas Behaviour - Been travelling almost whole of her life. Loves to travel around. - She’s an active activist who speaks up for women equality.

- Make in India, to give more opportunities for employment - Barrier free world.

Shobha Naidu, 55 years Widow Founder of Fab India brand, Amaravati Due to recent accident she is confined in a wheelchair, Amaravati

Stress points - Recent incident (accident) resulted into losing patience easily. - If she can’t do things by herself then it stresses her out.


Personas Behaviour - Hyperactive and enthusiastic of knowing things kid. - He loves running and jumping around places. - Loves to play with water.

Ambitions Demographics

- Wants to play all the time. - Love being around people.

Stress points - Doesn’t like to be confined. - Always wants mummy around him.


Personas Behaviour - Family oriented person who loves to spend most of her time with her family. - She loves cooking and trying out new recipes.

Ambitions Demographics

- Want to start-up something using her cooking and experiment skills. - Always want to be there around family.

Vaidehi Trivedi , 48 years Currently living with his second son who is 26 year old working in Amaravati Married, Housewife Went to school till 10th grade only

Stress points - She has a bad memory sometimes she forgets places easily. - Being dependent on people for unable to read and write properly stresses her out.

Mass & circulation (lvl 1)

Intention of circulation & zoning was to give free flow & clear unobstructed path with ramp being central focus & heart of space which is also encouraging people to explore the upper level.


Mass & circulation (lvl 2)

There are total 3 ramps in domestic in which one primary circulation (central area) & two secondary circulation (lateral area) usually kept to exit around to nearest gate or to explore different views opportunity.
