* In 2000, in Timişoara, UUR was member of an electoral alliance also including UBBR and UDSCR. The alliance received 283 votes and won no councilor’s seats. These votes are not included in the table. In 1996 UUR obtained local councilor’s seats in the following localities: Caraş-Severin county – Copăcel (2 seats); Maramureş county – Bocicoiu Mare (2), Poienile de sub Munte (4), Remeţi (3), Repedea (1), and Ruscova (2); Timiş county – Bârna (2), Ştiuca (1), and Victor Vlad Delamarina (1); Tulcea county – Ceatalchioi (1), Hamcearca (1), and Sfântu Gheorghe (1). In Suceava county they had no candidates, at least not under the label of the organization. UUR fielded seven candidates for mayor’s offices, with the best result in Remeţi (Maramureş county), where the candidate made it into the second round. Despite having candidates in six localities in Tulcea county too, they won no local council seats there. The UUR candidates won the mayor’s office in Ruscova and in Calafindeşti, while in Rona de Sus the UUR candidate got it into the second round. The same year, the rival organization, UDUR, obtained three seats in Bocicoiu Mare, one in Ruscova, and two in Muşeniţa (Suceava county); their candidate for the mayor’s office in the Muşeniţa got in the second round. In 2004 UUR was again the only organization of the Ukrainians standing in the elections, and obtained local council seats in the following localities: Târnova (1), Arad county; Cândeşti (1) and Mihăileni (2), Botoşani county; Copăcele (1), Caraş-Severin county; Bocicoiu Mare (3), Poienile de sub Munte (1), Remeţi (2), Repedea (1), Rona de Sus (1), Ruscova (4), all from Maramureş county; Bălcăuţi (1), Izvoarele Sucevei (2), Moldova Suliţa (1), Ulma (1), Suceava county; Bârna (1), Criciova (1), Darova (1), Ştiuca (1), Victor Vlad Delamarina (1), Timiş county; Murighiol (2), Tulcea county. The UUR candidates for the mayor’s office were unsuccessful, none of them got even into the second round.
