Annual Sports Meet at JV

Jawahar Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School, Ashok Nagar conducted its 37th Annual Sports Meet on January 25 at the Police Training College. The programme kick-started with flag hoisting and lighting of the torch. Students competed in different events under four houses, namely - Indira, Nehru Sarojini and Tagore houses. Sarojini House

won the overall championship. D.V.Sundar, honorary secretary, All India Chess Federation presided over the function. He said that sport is an area, which over' looks the criterias such as caste, creed and colour. Sport is all about champions and people respect and look upto them as champions and nothing else. Describing the year

as a very fruitful year for Jawahar Vidyalaya, he congratulated the students of the school who were the winners of the national level CBSE chess championship. He distributed the prizes to the winners of the sports events and NCC cadets. V Sree Chitra, a class 11 student was awarded the Best Cadet award for the year of 2006-2008.
