• Electrical heavy current and high voltage diploma or equivalent • 5 Years’ experience on supervisory level in a heavy industry environment

Experience: Responsibilities:

• Ensures the effective installation, maintenance extensions to and dismantling of electrical systems (in production areas and on premises) according to specific schedules, procedures and standards and regulations. • Supervises artisans, job planning and ensure that activities take place according to specific schedules, procedures and standards. • Allocates labour, spares and material to jobs. • Ensures that all company safety rules, statutory laws and regulations are adhered to. • Ensures all equipment/asset initiatives and processes are in conformance with the organisation’s established policies and objectives related to electrical installations. • Coordinates aspects of engineering activities within the organisation by maintaining the equipment and electrical requirements to help maintain production within the facility either with in-house labour or by contractual services. • Inspects workplace regularly. • Ensures efficient operations of the Electrical department by coordinating systems that accurately monitor all cost elements. • Identifies and solves material and equipment problems. • Seeks continuous improvement of products, machines and equipment. • Liaises with contractors and outside service engineers. • Assists to compile and manages annual budget. • Performs electrical duties, including constructing, testing, maintaining, \ troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment or apparatus. • Identifies technical problems in production, manufacturing or maintenance processes. • Ensures that production schedules are met and that equipment is repaired to the correct specifications. • Controls elements of projects or programs. • Handles technical aspects independently. • To manage standby for the department, controlling Production, Quality, Maintenance & Human Resources. • Ensures that staff is trained, skilled and that their expertise is optimally applied.
