Restoration Inspection Please find below Wild Automotive inspection advice on, 1966 Ford Thunderbird Viewed at 17 Marsden Rd St Mary's On the 23rd February 2015 On Behalf of Terry Kypreos Introduction The vehicle was presented at the private home of current owner. Viewing was slightly challenging due to being positioned in backyard and hemmed in by another 2 cars. General Condition The Thunderbird is in fair condition overall but is in need of major restoration to make road worthy and reliable. To make the vehicle of concourse quality, a full restoration with the replacement of 70%-90% of chrome, rubbers and fasteners. Body Current colour is a turquoise variant that looks to be a 2nd or 3rd layer of paint. The vin on the front apron was not visible without sanding and thinners. The bonnet showed signs of heat damage from an early electrical fire in the engine bay. The left-hand side of the TBird did not show any major signs of damage there was rust in the lower sill and bottom of the door. The rear quarter was in similar condition. Wild Automotive taillights are incorrect being 1964 era. The floor pan showed signs of rust with some holes in driver's front floor pan. The engine bay has signs of previous fire damage and is in need of full strip down and repair.
Interior The interior was in very poor condition. The front 2 seats are in need of a full re-trim with frames in unknown condition. The rear seat was not in the vehicle but the bottom was rusted beyond repair and a replacement will need to be sourced. The back of the seat was also not in the vehicle and was not able to be viewed.
The dash and console also in poor condition with replacement of all chrome and other dress accessories. The gauges are in unknown condition and in need of refurbishment or replacement.

Engine As per images the engine has signs of fire damage and general wear and tear. The engine itself turned over and idled in a better than expected fashion. We believe that rebuilding the existing engine would be the best option for retaining the authenticity of the rebuild.

Wild Automotive Drive-train The gearbox and differential where not able to be evaluated due to the position of the vehicle. We therefore can only allow for reconditioning and future testing. Brakes and Suspension Again due to not being able to test drive vehicle no accurate assessment could be carried out. A restoration of this vehicle would include a full rebuild and/or replacement of components. Electrical A full rewire of this vehicle will be necessary due to age and evidence of previous fire damage. Also the electric roof and boot mechanism was inoperable.

Wild Automotive Summary The vehicle has significant electrical issues and requires and complete rebuild with many of the required parts needed to be sourced from USA and local suppliers. The majority of the chrome and decals are pitted and beyond refurbishment. The interior is incomplete and requires careful attention. Overall the Thunderbird is not the ideal base to start a concourse restoration but is of an acceptable level. Due to the nature of restoration and the limited inspection environment of the location of the vehicle Wild Automotive can offer a 80% estimate being between $90,000 and $120,000. The 20% variable allows for unknown condition of internal, under-paint and dollar fluctuation for overseas purchases.
