The Maggie and Dick Scarlett Excellence Chair
Maggie and Dick Scarlett have made another generous gift to the Division of Communication Disorders. Their contribution has created an excellence fund in Maggie’s name which is to be used to foster excellence and provide financial support for the Division of Communication Disorders. This gift is timely, as it ensures the ability for the Division of Communication Disorders to have critical resources that continue to strengthen our program in the face state budget cuts. The Maggie and Dick Scarlett Excellence Fund in Speech Language Pathology will be used to provide funding for a new PhD faculty member.
The Maggie and Dick Scarlett Excellence Chair in SpeechLanguage Pathology will also allow the Division to advance research in the field while preparing exceptional speechlanguage pathologists. The Division is currently looking for highly qualified and experienced professors for this position.
“We were able to offer the Maggie and Dick Scarlett Summer Speaker Series for two years, and it was an absolute success. Our faculty hope to continue the spirit of this event by providing continuing education to providers at state and national events. The Maggie Scarlett Excellence Chair in Speech-Language Pathology is truly a godsend. The Scarletts have provided a way for the Division to maintain excellence and to be known nationally as an exceptional program,” says Division Director, Mark Guiberson.
