Outside Linebacker New York Giants

Lorenzo Carter, an outside linebacker out of the University of Georgia, was drafted by the New York Giants in the 3rd-round of the 2018 NFL Draft. During his time with the Giants, he has established himself as a leader both on and off the field.

Most recently, Lorenzo was a captain of the New York Giants/Brooklyn Nets Team of Teams group that partnered with United Way of New York City’s EducateNYC program. Throughout the 2020 season, Lorenzo led his team of players and coaches as they fought for educational equity in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Through their focus on the Brownsville community, the team adopted two schools, P.S. 165 and Brownsville Academy High School, and provided support to their students, staff members and families. This partnership allowed Giants players and coaches to mentor these students and encouraged them to pursue their dreams. In addition, the team provided these schools with PPE, food pantry items, Amazon gift cards and additional funds for resources.

Lorenzo represented both United Way of New York City and Atlanta during the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats initiative to spread awareness for the mission of United Way. Carter also participated in a virtual Character Playbook event with United Way and Everfi to discuss with students the importance of communication and managing emotions.
