JETS IN THE COMMUNITY

The New York Jets take great pride in a long-standing, year-round commitment to our community. Programs funded by the New York Jets Foundation look to positively influence the lives of young men and women in the tri-state area by supporting youth football, preventing bullying, and promoting social justice, particularly in disadvantaged communities.

This past year the New York Jets and the Johnson Family made a $1 million joint donation to multiple local United Way agencies in an effort to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic, which included $500,000 to the United Way of New York City. “The United Way continues to improve lives around the world and we need community-based organizations more than ever at this moment,” said Jets CEO Christopher Johnson. “Everyone has been impacted by this invisible enemy and the United Way is meeting it head-on at home, helping those disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 and the economic consequences of the outbreak.”

Additionally, the Jets launched the first Girls High School Flag Football League in New Jersey with eight teams. This, along with our annual $50,000 contribution to the New York City Public Schools Athletic League Girls Varsity Flag Football program, demonstrates our dedication to give more opportunities to females to participate in sports. In addition to our focus on youth development, the Jets support the efforts of the Lupus Research Alliance, numerous established charitable organizations and causes sponsored by the NFL.
