APPLIED & JOINT PROGRAMS Blend academic and hands-on practical experience through UWinnipeg joint programs with Red River College, Winnipeg Technical College, CancerCare Manitoba, and The University of Winnipeg Professional, Applied and Continuing Education (UWPACE).

RADIATION THERAPY WITH UWINNIPEG & CANCERCARE MANITOBA Radiation therapy involves the use of radiation (in this case, high energy x-rays) to treat the cancer cells in the body. We are currently creating a joint degree/certification program between UWinnipeg and CancerCare Manitoba (CCM) in Radiation Therapy. The program will involve a full science degree based in the Physics Department with UWinnipeg and the radiation therapy-specific training with CCM.

ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN LEADERSHIP IN EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE & EDUCATION WITH PACE & UWINNIPEG This is a leadership development program that is designed for professionals within the early childhood care and education sector. It is a unique combination of courses from the Professional Studies Program Area in PACE and the Developmental Studies degree program through UWinnipeg.

APPLIED & JOINT PROGRAMS WITH UWINNIPEG & RED RIVER COLLEGE APPLIED BIOLOGY Qualified biotechnologists are in demand in Manitoba. Study molecular and cellular biology and develop the necessary laboratory skills required in biotechnology. Graduates will receive both a diploma in Chemical and Biosciences Technology from RRC and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the UWinnipeg. Optional cooperative, integrating academic studies with 12 months of paid work experience in biology-related positions.

APPLIED CHEMISTRY Graduates will receive both a diploma in Chemical and Biosciences Technology from RRC and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the UWinnipeg. Graduates may find work in federal or provincial government laboratories, industrial laboratories, hospital laboratories, or with pharmaceutical or chemical companies.

APPLIED CHILD DEVELOPMENT & CHILD CARE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION Obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Developmental Studies from UWinnipeg and a diploma in Early Childhood Education from RRC or Université de Saint-Boniface in only four years. In your studies, you’ll take courses from a number of different departments including Education, Business, Psychology, and Conflict Resolution Studies, and develop essential skills in early childhood management and leadership, human development, inclusive education, language disorders, and clinical report writing.

JOINT COMMUNICATIONS Combine the two-year Creative Communications diploma from RRC with credits from UWinnipeg for a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. You’ll take classes in journalism, advertising, public relations and broadcast production, and sharpen your skills with hands-on experience during work placements. Graduates of the program enjoy a high rate of employment and pursue exciting careers around the world. This program requires simultaneous application with RRC joint program.

DISABILITY STUDIES Disability Studies is offered jointly with the Disability and Community Support diploma program at RRC. All students majoring in Disability Studies must complete the diploma program at RRC, and may begin their studies at either institution. Students in Disability Studies graduate with both a diploma from Red River College and a degree from The University of Winnipeg.

APPLIED ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES Prepare for a career in the health and service industries in Manitoba. Courses cover such topics as waste management, soil-vegetation systems and environmental ethics. Choose between a 4-year and 5-year program. In the five-year program you’ll have the option of completing a co-operative work term consisting of a minimum of 16 weeks of full-time, paid work experience.

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS) There is a demand for GIS-literate graduates in Manitoba, with careers available in a wide variety of areas—health, the environment, emergency preparedness, defense and business geographics. Students who successfully complete the RRC GIS Technology PostGraduate diploma program will be granted 30 credit hours toward either a BA (4-Year) or BSc (4-Year) in Geography at UWinnipeg.

INDIGENOUS STUDIES/ABORIGINAL SELF-GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION A multidisciplinary program which explores the diverse cultures associated with indigenous studies and governance. Students who complete the diploma in Self-Government Administration at RRC are granted 30 credit hours towards their UWinnipeg degree.
